Once the game started, Marie texted me pics of her and her sister, Amelie, in full fan regalia watching from their home.
Hopefully, you all know Germany won!
We then continued our bike ride north out of town, with the goal of riding 30 miles total. The road was smooth and traffic was light and the scenery beautiful. We ended at the campground Ben's 500 miler group chose last summer and turned back. I had not really realized that we had been riding a slight grade. The ride back to Ketchum was a blast, and with the wind at our backs we could top 20 mph easily.
Sun Valley has a tradition of an Ice Capades show followed by fireworks. We arrived at 9:20 PM and it was still light out. The ice show had not even started!. We settled on a grassy spot near some other revelers and then walked around to peek at the show for free. We could see about 60% of the rink and got to see several olympic medalists entertain the crowd.
The fireworks finally went off at 11 PM and were gorgeous! However, 5 minutes before they began, the sprinklers went off with a vengance! Our grassy group leaped up, spilling drinks and scrambling to get out of the jet spray. Ben and I got off pretty lightly and enjoyed the view from the safety of a nearby fence rail.
Beautiful!
